Responsibilities
- Research and analyze emerging policy trends in urban development, equity, and sustainability
- Develop data-driven policy recommendations for council review and executive implementation
- Lead stakeholder engagement sessions with community groups and government agencies
- Prepare comprehensive policy briefs and legislative testimony materials
- Monitor federal policy changes affecting DC autonomy and home rule
- Manage cross-departmental policy implementation projects
- Mentor junior analysts on quantitative and qualitative research methodologies
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, Political Science, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive policy analysis experience in government or non-profit sectors
- Expertise in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies
- Advanced proficiency in data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI)
- Demonstrated success in translating complex data into actionable policy recommendations
- Knowledge of DC's unique governance structure and legislative processes
- Experience managing stakeholder coalitions across diverse communities
