Responsibilities
- Research and analyze complex policy issues related to housing, transportation, and economic development
- Develop actionable policy recommendations using quantitative and qualitative data
- Collaborate with state agencies, local governments, and community stakeholders
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for executive leadership
- Monitor legislative developments and assess potential impacts on state programs
- Lead cross-functional task forces to implement policy initiatives
- Manage grant programs and ensure compliance with state regulations
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, or related field (Bachelor's with 5+ years experience considered)
- 3+ years of policy analysis experience in government or non-profit sector
- Advanced proficiency in statistical software (SPSS, R) and GIS mapping
- Proven ability to communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences
- Knowledge of California state government processes and regulations
- Experience with community engagement and stakeholder management
- Valid California driver's license required for travel to field sites
- Ability to obtain security clearance for sensitive information access
