Responsibilities
- Analyze complex socioeconomic data and draft comprehensive policy briefs for executive leadership
- Collaborate with legislative committees to develop evidence-based legislation and regulatory frameworks
- Oversee stakeholder engagement initiatives including public hearings and community forums
- Manage policy implementation projects across multiple state agencies
- Conduct fiscal impact assessments and budget analysis for proposed policies
- Represent the department at intergovernmental meetings and professional conferences
- Mentor junior analysts and supervise policy research workflows
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Economics, Political Science, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of progressive policy analysis experience in government or nonprofit sector
- Expertise in quantitative data analysis and statistical software (R, SAS, SPSS)
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful policy initiatives
- Deep understanding of New York State government operations and legislative processes
- Exceptional written communication skills with demonstrated policy writing portfolio
- Valid New York State driver's license
