Responsibilities
- Analyze complex policy issues and draft comprehensive legislative proposals
- Conduct quantitative/qualitative research using advanced statistical methods
- Collaborate with agency heads and community stakeholders to align policy goals
- Present findings to City Council and senior leadership through concise reports
- Monitor implementation of policies and recommend evidence-based adjustments
- Manage cross-functional project teams with strict deadlines
- Develop innovative solutions for DC's most pressing urban challenges
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, or related field (PhD preferred)
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in government or nonprofit sector
- Expertise in quantitative research methodologies and statistical software
- Proven track record of drafting successful legislation or policy frameworks
- Exceptional written/verbal communication skills with executive audience experience
- Deep understanding of federal, state, and local government structures
- DC residency required within 90 days of hire
- Valid U.S. driver's license
