Responsibilities
- Analyze complex state legislation and regulatory frameworks to inform policy recommendations
- Conduct quantitative/qualitative research and data interpretation for evidence-based decisions
- Collaborate with inter-agency task forces to develop cross-functional policy solutions
- Prepare comprehensive policy briefs and legislative testimony for government stakeholders
- Monitor implementation outcomes and adjust strategies based on performance metrics
- Mentor junior analysts and coordinate with external research partners
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years progressive policy analysis experience in government or public sector
- Advanced proficiency in statistical software (SPSS, R) and data visualization tools
- Demonstrated success in drafting legislation and regulatory impact statements
- Valid Texas driver's license and ability to travel statewide occasionally
- Clear background check and U.S. citizenship requirement
- Certified Public Manager (CPM) designation highly desirable
