The Role:
As a Senior Policy Analyst, you will be responsible for evaluating the economic impact of digital policy initiatives and providing evidence-based recommendations to senior leadership.
Responsibilities
- Policy Development: Lead the end-to-end development of digital policy frameworks, ensuring alignment with HM Treasury's strategic objectives and the UK Government's wider agenda.
- Economic Analysis: Conduct rigorous economic and statistical analysis to assess the feasibility and cost-benefit of proposed digital transformation projects.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for cross-departmental collaboration, engaging with technical teams, legal advisors, and external vendors to drive project delivery.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all digital initiatives comply with relevant UK legislation, including data protection laws and financial regulations.
- Reporting: Produce high-level reports, briefings, and presentations for ministers and senior officials, translating complex data into clear, actionable insights.
- Innovation: Identify emerging trends in digital technology and advise on how these can be leveraged to improve public sector efficiency.
Qualifications
- Education: A minimum of a 2:1 Honours degree (or equivalent) in Economics, Public Policy, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in policy analysis, economic consultancy, or a relevant role within the public or private sector.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel (advanced functions), SQL, and Python. Experience with government reporting systems is highly desirable.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex policy concepts to diverse audiences.
- Organizational Skills: Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Security Clearance: Eligibility for SC (Security Check) clearance is essential for this role.
