Responsibilities
- Analyze complex policy issues and draft actionable recommendations for state legislative priorities
- Conduct quantitative/qualitative research using advanced statistical tools and data visualization platforms
- Coordinate interagency task forces on economic development, environmental sustainability, and social equity
- Prepare executive briefings and testimony for legislative hearings and stakeholder presentations
- Monitor federal policy developments and assess implications for New York State implementation
- Mentor junior analysts while maintaining rigorous quality control standards
- Develop performance metrics for program evaluation and continuous improvement
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Economics, Urban Planning, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive policy analysis experience in government or public sector
- Advanced proficiency in statistical software (R, SAS, Python) and GIS mapping
- Demonstrated success in developing bipartisan policy frameworks
- Expert knowledge of New York State budget processes and regulatory frameworks
- Valid New York State driver's license (required for statewide travel)
- Professional certification (e.g., PPFA, PMP) preferred
- Portfolio of published policy papers or legislative proposals required
