Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive policy proposals and legislative recommendations aligned with state priorities
- Analyze complex datasets and stakeholder feedback to inform strategic decision-making
- Lead cross-departmental initiatives to implement policy solutions
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for executive leadership and legislative bodies
- Monitor emerging trends and evaluate policy effectiveness through quantitative analysis
- Coordinate with external partners including local governments and non-profits
- Represent the agency in public forums and legislative hearings
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Economics, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive policy analysis experience in government or public sector
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools (SPSS, R, or SAS)
- Demonstrated experience with Texas state government operations and legislative processes
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong project management abilities with complex, multi-phase initiatives
- Valid Texas driver's license and ability to travel statewide
