Responsibilities
- Analyze transportation policies and recommend evidence-based solutions to regional challenges
- Prepare comprehensive policy briefs, legislative testimony, and executive reports
- Coordinate with local governments, community organizations, and industry stakeholders
- Monitor federal/state legislative developments and assess impacts on TxDOT operations
- Lead cross-functional teams on special initiatives like congestion management or transit expansion
- Develop performance metrics and track policy implementation outcomes
- Represent TxDOT at public forums and legislative hearings
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, Transportation Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in government policy analysis or transportation planning
- Expertise in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies
- Deep understanding of Texas transportation systems and regulatory frameworks
- Advanced proficiency in data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI)
- Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
- Valid Texas driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Experience with public budgeting processes and grant administration
