Responsibilities
- Analyze state legislation and regulatory impacts on Chicago metropolitan communities
- Develop evidence-based policy recommendations for urban development initiatives
- Coordinate with federal, state, and local government stakeholders on cross-jurisdictional projects
- Lead public consultations and stakeholder engagement sessions across diverse neighborhoods
- Prepare comprehensive policy briefs and implementation roadmaps for legislative bodies
- Monitor budget allocations and ensure compliance with state funding requirements
- Manage research teams using quantitative and qualitative analysis methodologies
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, Political Science, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in state/local government policy development
- Expertise in Illinois government operations and legislative processes
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools (SPSS, R, or Python)
- Proven track record of implementing successful public policy initiatives
- Valid Illinois government security clearance (or ability to obtain)
- Strong written/verbal communication skills with bilingual capabilities preferred
