Responsibilities
- Analyze complex urban policy challenges and recommend data-driven solutions for Portland's housing, transportation, and environmental initiatives
- Lead stakeholder engagement with local government officials, community leaders, and private sector partners
- Develop comprehensive policy briefs and legislative recommendations aligned with state strategic goals
- Oversee implementation of equity-focused programs serving diverse Portland communities
- Monitor emerging trends in urban governance and assess potential impacts on state operations
- Manage research projects using quantitative and qualitative methodologies
- Present findings to executive leadership and legislative committees
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, or related field (5+ years experience may substitute)
- Minimum 3 years of policy analysis experience in government or nonprofit sector
- Expertise in Portland's municipal systems and Oregon state regulations
- Advanced proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
- Proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences
- Valid Oregon driver's license with acceptable driving record
- U.S. citizenship and ability to pass federal background check
