Responsibilities
- Manage and process incoming applications and inquiries for state assistance programs with high accuracy.
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate electronic and physical records of all departmental transactions.
- Coordinate scheduling for departmental meetings and ensure compliance with state regulations.
- Assist in the preparation of reports and statistical data for local government officials.
- Provide exceptional customer service to residents of Portland, IL, addressing their questions regarding eligibility and procedures.
- Assist in the organization of community outreach events and public information sessions.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Business Administration or Public Service is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in administrative or customer service roles, preferably within the government or public sector.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with database management systems.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive government data.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.
