Responsibilities
- Analyze complex urban policy issues using quantitative and qualitative research methodologies
- Develop actionable policy recommendations for District Council review and implementation
- Collaborate with 20+ municipal agencies to align strategic priorities
- Present findings to executive leadership through executive summaries and public briefings
- Manage $5M+ grant programs ensuring compliance and measurable outcomes
- Leverage GIS data to visualize policy impacts across DC's 8 wards
- Mentor junior analysts while maintaining rigorous quality assurance standards
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years analyzing municipal government policies with demonstrated impact
- Advanced proficiency in statistical software (R, Python, or SAS)
- Experience presenting to legislative bodies and senior executives
- Deep knowledge of DC's Home Rule Act and federal-local relations
- Proven ability to manage multi-year federal grant compliance
- Clearance for handling sensitive municipal data (required)
- Strong writing skills with published policy briefs or reports
