Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies for state agency initiatives
- Manage media relations and serve as primary spokesperson for public announcements
- Oversee social media campaigns across multiple platforms with 500K+ followers
- Coordinate crisis communication protocols during emergency situations
- Produce compelling content including press releases, speeches, and digital assets
- Analyze public sentiment metrics and adjust strategies accordingly
- Leverage data analytics to measure campaign effectiveness and ROI
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on interdepartmental projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, or related field
- 5+ years of professional communications experience with government or public sector
- Proven crisis management and media relations expertise
- Advanced proficiency in digital analytics tools (Google Analytics, Hootsuite)
- Valid Florida driver's license and ability to travel statewide
- Experience managing budgets up to $250K for campaign execution
- Expert knowledge of public records laws and Sunshine Compliance
