Responsibilities
- Design and implement epidemiological studies to track disease patterns and health trends
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop evidence-based public health interventions
- Analyze large-scale health datasets using SAS, R, or Python to identify population health disparities
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for policymakers and community stakeholders
- Manage grant-funded projects with budgets exceeding $500,000
- Train junior staff on epidemiological methodologies and data visualization techniques
- Represent the department in inter-agency health coalitions and community forums
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or related field
- Minimum 4 years of experience in public health data analysis or program management
- Proficiency in statistical software (SAS, R, or Python) and health data systems
- Valid California driver's license and ability to travel statewide as needed
- Demonstrated experience working with diverse communities and health equity initiatives
- Knowledge of California public health regulations and Title 42 requirements
- Certified in Public Health (CPH) designation preferred
