Responsibilities
- Analyze complex epidemiological data to identify emerging health trends and recommend evidence-based interventions
- Develop and implement public health programs targeting vulnerable populations in Santa Clara County
- Coordinate multi-agency response strategies for health emergencies and outbreaks
- Prepare detailed policy briefings for state legislators and department leadership
- Manage grant-funded projects totaling $1M+ in annual budgets
- Mentor junior analysts and conduct quality assurance reviews of technical reports
- Represent the department at intergovernmental health coalitions and community forums
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in government/public health analytics
- Proficiency in SAS, R, or Python for statistical analysis
- Valid California Public Health Analyst certification
- Demonstrated experience with CDC surveillance systems
- Expert knowledge of HIPAA and FERPA compliance protocols
- Ability to obtain and maintain a CA State Security Clearance
- Proven track record of developing data-driven health policy recommendations
