Responsibilities
- Analyze complex epidemiological data to identify emerging health threats and inform evidence-based interventions
- Develop and implement public health programs targeting chronic disease prevention and maternal/child health
- Lead interagency partnerships with federal, state, and community organizations to coordinate resource allocation
- Prepare comprehensive reports and policy briefs for executive leadership and city council members
- Manage grant-funded projects with budgets exceeding $2M ensuring compliance and measurable outcomes
- Oversee data collection systems and quality assurance protocols for public health surveillance
- Train and mentor junior staff on public health methodologies and analytical tools
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or related field (PhD preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive public health experience with local/state government agencies
- Advanced proficiency in statistical software (R, SAS, SPSS) and GIS mapping tools
- Demonstrated success in developing health equity frameworks and culturally responsive interventions
- Valid DC government security clearance (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Experience with CDC reporting standards and HRSA grant management
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with executive-level presentation experience
