Responsibilities
- Design and implement epidemiological studies to track disease patterns and health disparities
- Analyze population health data using SAS, R, or Python to inform policy recommendations
- Coordinate inter-agency partnerships with hospitals, NGOs, and community organizations
- Develop grant proposals to secure federal/state funding for health initiatives
- Lead crisis response planning for public health emergencies
- Present findings to government officials, community boards, and the public
- Mentor junior staff and oversee departmental data quality assurance
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in government/public health setting
- Advanced proficiency in statistical software (SAS/R/Python)
- Valid Louisiana Public Health Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Experience with grant writing and federal program compliance
- Strong knowledge of CDC guidelines and HIPAA regulations
- Exceptional communication skills with diverse stakeholders
- Valid Louisiana driver's license
