As a key member of our Long Beach regional team, you'll collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to develop, implement, and evaluate public health programs targeting health equity, disease prevention, and emergency preparedness. You'll leverage cutting-edge epidemiological methods and community engagement strategies to protect and improve the health of over 500,000 residents across Los Angeles County.
Responsibilities
- Analyze complex public health data to identify trends, assess risks, and inform evidence-based policy recommendations
- Design and oversee implementation of community health interventions targeting vulnerable populations
- Lead interagency collaborations with healthcare providers, community organizations, and government entities
- Develop comprehensive public health emergency preparedness plans and response protocols
- Prepare detailed analytical reports, grant proposals, and legislative briefings
- Supervise junior analysts and coordinate field investigations for disease outbreaks
- Evaluate program effectiveness using quantitative metrics and qualitative feedback
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or related field (PhD preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of progressive public health analysis experience in government or non-profit settings
- Expertise in SAS, R, or SPSS for complex statistical modeling and data visualization
- Proven track record developing health equity frameworks and community engagement strategies
- Valid California Public Health Analyst certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Deep knowledge of California Health and Safety Code Title 25 and federal public health regulations
- Exceptional written communication skills demonstrated through published reports or peer-reviewed articles
