Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive public health emergency response plans for Dallas County
- Coordinate multi-agency disaster preparedness initiatives including COVID-19, natural disasters, and bioterrorism threats
- Lead public health crisis communications strategies across diverse communities
- Analyze epidemiological data to inform emergency resource allocation and policy decisions
- Train and supervise emergency response personnel in public health protocols
- Secure and manage federal/state emergency preparedness grants
- Collaborate with healthcare systems, NGOs, and private sector partners
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Emergency Management, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in public health emergency response or disaster management
- Proven expertise in developing emergency operations plans (EOPs)
- Familiarity with NIMS/ICS frameworks and FEMA grant administration
- Strong data analysis skills with experience in epidemiological modeling
- Excellent crisis communication abilities across diverse populations
- Valid Texas driver's license and ability to work extended emergency hours
- PHR/CEMP or CEM certification preferred
