Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive public health strategies targeting chronic disease prevention and health equity initiatives
- Lead epidemiological investigations and data analysis to identify emerging health threats and trends
- Coordinate community outreach programs with local healthcare providers, schools, and non-profits
- Manage grant-funded projects ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations
- Train and supervise junior public health staff and volunteers
- Represent the county at health forums and stakeholder meetings
- Prepare detailed reports and recommendations for the Public Health Director
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in public health program implementation
- Valid Texas Public Health certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Advanced proficiency in epidemiological software (e.g., SAS, R) and data visualization tools
- Demonstrated success in grant writing and project management
- Strong interpersonal skills for diverse community engagement
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal public health regulations
- Spanish bilingual proficiency preferred
