Responsibilities
- Develop and implement county-wide public health strategies focusing on disease prevention and health equity
- Lead emergency preparedness responses for public health crises and natural disasters
- Analyze epidemiological data to identify trends and recommend targeted interventions
- Coordinate with community organizations, healthcare providers, and government agencies
- Manage grant-funded programs and ensure compliance with federal/state regulations
- Train public health staff and community stakeholders on best practices
- Advise county leadership on emerging public health threats and policy recommendations
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive public health experience with local government
- Certified in Public Health (CPH) or eligible for certification
- Expertise in epidemiological analysis and health program evaluation
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA, CDC guidelines, and CA public health codes
- Experience managing budgets over $500K and federal/state grant reporting
- Exceptional communication skills with diverse stakeholders
- Valid California driver's license
