Responsibilities
- Develop and implement evidence-based public health intervention programs targeting underserved Houston communities
- Analyze epidemiological data to identify emerging health threats and recommend policy solutions
- Coordinate with local healthcare providers and community organizations to promote preventive health measures
- Manage grant-funded projects with budgets exceeding $500,000
- Prepare comprehensive reports for state legislators and public health leadership
- Train and mentor junior public health staff on best practices and compliance standards
- Represent the department at regional health coalition meetings and stakeholder forums
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field (required)
- Minimum 3 years of public health program implementation experience
- Proficiency in health data analysis tools (SPSS, SAS, or R)
- Texas driver's license with clean driving record
- Experience working with diverse populations and community-based organizations
- Knowledge of CDC guidelines and Texas state health regulations
- Certified in Public Health (CPH) preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
