Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies for state programs
- Serve as primary media spokesperson for department initiatives
- Write and distribute press releases, speeches, and digital content
- Manage social media channels to engage citizens and stakeholders
- Coordinate crisis communications protocols during emergencies
- Analyze public sentiment and adjust messaging strategies
- Collaborate with agency leaders to align communications with policy goals
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field
- 5+ years of professional communications experience
- Proven crisis management and media relations expertise
- Advanced writing and editing skills with portfolio samples
- Experience with government/public sector communications preferred
- Proficiency in CMS platforms and social media analytics
- Valid Florida driver's license
- Ability to obtain security clearance
