Responsibilities
- Analyze complex policy issues and develop evidence-based recommendations for county council and executive leadership
- Lead stakeholder engagement processes with community groups, nonprofits, and industry partners
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative research using advanced statistical methods and GIS mapping
- Draft policy briefs, implementation plans, and legislative language for public consideration
- Monitor policy implementation outcomes and prepare impact assessment reports
- Collaborate with 15+ county departments to ensure policy coherence and alignment
- Present findings to public forums and legislative committees
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, Economics, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive policy analysis experience in government or nonprofit sectors
- Expertise in quantitative analysis (SPSS, R, Python) and qualitative research methods
- Proven track record of developing and implementing public policy initiatives
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to translate complex data
- Knowledge of Washington State legislative processes and King County governance structure
- Ability to manage multiple high-priority projects with competing deadlines
