Responsibilities
- Research and analyze complex urban policy issues using quantitative and qualitative methods
- Develop data-driven recommendations for City Council and executive leadership
- Lead cross-departmental task forces on initiatives like affordable housing and climate action
- Prepare comprehensive policy briefs and legislative testimony
- Manage stakeholder engagement with community groups, businesses, and nonprofits
- Monitor implementation of adopted policies and measure impact through KPI tracking
- Present findings to elected officials and public forums
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Administration, Urban Planning, Economics, or related field
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in government or municipal setting
- Advanced proficiency in statistical software (R, Python, SPSS) and GIS mapping
- Proven track record of developing successful urban policy initiatives
- Strong understanding of North Carolina state and local government regulations
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Valid North Carolina driver's license
