Responsibilities
- Conduct field inspections of construction projects to ensure compliance with city codes and specifications
- Review engineering plans and blueprints for accuracy and feasibility
- Investigate citizen complaints related to public infrastructure issues
- Maintain detailed inspection records and prepare comprehensive reports
- Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and city departments
- Enforce safety regulations on construction sites
- Provide technical guidance to junior inspectors
Qualifications
- Three years of public works inspection experience
- Valid California Class C driver's license
- ICC certifications in Building/Plan Review and/or Special Inspection
- Knowledge of California Green Building Code and Title 24 regulations
- Proficiency with GIS mapping software and inspection databases
- Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
