Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections of municipal construction projects to verify compliance with engineering plans and safety regulations
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate project documentation
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and city departments to resolve construction issues
- Review permit applications and ensure adherence to municipal codes and standards
- Train and mentor junior inspectors on inspection protocols and documentation procedures
- Investigate citizen complaints related to construction activities and implement corrective actions
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in public works construction inspection or related field
- Valid California Inspector Certification (CIT, CMA, or equivalent)
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, GIS mapping systems, and inspection software
- Strong knowledge of California Building Codes and municipal regulations
- Ability to interpret complex engineering blueprints and specifications
- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement and conflict resolution
- Valid California driver's license with clean record
