Responsibilities
- Oversee construction inspections for municipal infrastructure projects including roads, drainage systems, and utilities
- Review contractor compliance with engineering plans, specifications, and local regulations
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain project documentation
- Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and community stakeholders
- Investigate public concerns related to construction activities
- Enforce safety protocols and environmental protection standards
- Assist in resolving technical disputes and recommending corrective actions
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of construction inspection experience with municipal infrastructure
- Valid Virginia Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Certification as a Virginia Certified Building Inspector (VBCI) preferred
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and construction management software
- Strong knowledge of Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code (USBC)
- Excellent written communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Valid CPR/First Aid certification
