Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive transportation master plans for urban corridors in King County
- Conduct multimodal feasibility studies for light rail and bus rapid transit systems
- Analyze traffic impact studies using VISSIM and Synchro software
- Coordinate with federal, state, and local agencies on infrastructure funding initiatives
- Lead public outreach campaigns to gather community input on transportation projects
- Prepare environmental documentation (SEPA/NEPA) for major infrastructure developments
- Mentor junior planners and supervise technical analysis teams
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive transportation planning experience with state or municipal agencies
- Professional Engineer (PE) or American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification
- Advanced proficiency in GIS (ArcGIS), Auto Civil 3D, and transportation modeling software
- Demonstrated experience with federal grant applications (FTA, FHWA)
- Strong knowledge of Washington State transportation regulations (RCW 47.01)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder presentations
