Responsibilities
- Monitor and coordinate real-time traffic flow across Seattle's highway network during overnight hours
- Dispatch emergency maintenance crews for incidents (accidents, weather events, infrastructure issues)
- Operate Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) including dynamic message signs and traffic cameras
- Conduct field inspections of roadway conditions and report infrastructure concerns
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies for incident management and traffic control
- Maintain detailed logs of all operations and submit comprehensive shift reports
- Participate in emergency response drills and critical infrastructure protection protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in transportation technology preferred
- Minimum 2 years experience in transportation operations, logistics, or emergency services
- Valid Washington State driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to work independently in high-pressure overnight environments
- Strong problem-solving skills and decision-making abilities during critical incidents
- Proficiency with GIS mapping systems and traffic management software
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Must pass background check and DOT physical fitness assessment
