Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive transportation plans for urban corridors and multimodal systems
- Lead environmental reviews and compliance with NEPA, SEPA, and state regulations
- Analyze transportation data using GIS and modeling software to forecast future needs
- Coordinate with local governments, tribal nations, and community stakeholders
- Manage project budgets and timelines for capital improvement programs
- Prepare technical reports and policy recommendations for legislative committees
- Mentor junior planners and facilitate interdepartmental collaboration
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Transportation Planning, Civil Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive transportation planning experience
- Expertise in transportation modeling software (TransCAD, Cube, or VISSIM)
- Deep knowledge of federal/state transportation regulations (MAP-21, FAST Act)
- Proven experience leading public engagement processes and community outreach
- Professional certification (AICP, PTOE) or ability to obtain within 12 months
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex datasets
