Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive transportation plans for Houston metropolitan area
- Lead environmental impact assessments and compliance reviews for major infrastructure projects
- Analyze traffic flow patterns and congestion mitigation strategies using GIS and modeling tools
- Coordinate with city planners, engineers, and community stakeholders on project alignment
- Manage federal/state grant applications and funding allocation processes
- Prepare technical reports and policy recommendations for executive leadership
- Oversee contract administration for consulting firms and construction partners
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive transportation planning experience in public sector
- Proficiency in traffic modeling software (TransCAD, Synchro) and GIS platforms
- Valid Texas Driver's License with acceptable driving record
- Experience with NEPA documentation and environmental compliance
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex transportation data
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder engagement
- Knowledge of Houston's transportation network and regional planning initiatives
