Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive urban planning strategies aligned with Dallas' 2040 Comprehensive Plan
- Analyze zoning applications and land development proposals for regulatory compliance
- Lead public engagement initiatives to gather community input on urban projects
- Prepare environmental impact assessments and feasibility studies
- Collaborate with transportation and infrastructure departments on integrated planning
- Manage complex land use cases and present findings to planning commissions
- Stay current with federal housing policies and sustainable development practices
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive urban planning experience in municipal government
- Valid AICP certification from the American Institute of Certified Planners
- Advanced proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS) and urban modeling tools
- Demonstrated experience with public hearing facilitation and community outreach
- Strong analytical skills for interpreting demographic and land use data
- Knowledge of Texas municipal zoning laws and federal housing regulations
