Responsibilities
- Lead comprehensive urban planning projects including zoning amendments and land use reviews
- Analyze demographic and socioeconomic data to inform equitable development strategies
- Collaborate with community stakeholders and elected officials on public engagement initiatives
- Prepare professional reports and presentations for City Council and Mayoral approvals
- Oversee environmental reviews under SEPA and NYC environmental review laws
- Develop affordable housing and sustainability policy frameworks
- Manage inter-agency coordination for infrastructure and public realm projects
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in urban planning or government policy development
- New York State certification as a Planner (AICP) preferred
- Expertise in NYC zoning regulations and land use procedures
- Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS) and data analysis tools
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with public speaking experience
- Experience managing community outreach and public hearings
- Valid New York State driver's license required
