Responsibilities
- Lead comprehensive neighborhood revitalization plans in collaboration with community stakeholders
- Manage zoning ordinance revisions and land use policy development
- Oversee environmental reviews and compliance with federal/state regulations
- Prepare and present complex planning projects to Planning Commission and City Council
- Coordinate interdepartmental projects with Public Works, Transportation, and Economic Development
- Analyze demographic and economic data to inform strategic planning decisions
- Manage consultant contracts and oversee planning project budgets
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive urban planning experience in municipal government
- Michigan AICP certification required
- Expertise in zoning law, land use regulations, and environmental review processes
- Advanced proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS) and planning analytics tools
- Proven track record of leading community engagement initiatives
- Experience managing planning budgets and consultant contracts
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for public presentations
