Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive zoning ordinances and land use policies aligned with city resilience goals
- Lead community engagement initiatives for major infrastructure projects
- Analyze demographic data and economic trends to inform strategic planning
- Manage environmental compliance reviews under federal/state regulations
- Coordinate with engineering departments on public space redesigns
- Prepare grant proposals for HUD and FEMA funding programs
- Maintain GIS mapping systems for urban development tracking
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive planning experience in municipal government
- LA AICP certification required
- Expertise in FEMA floodplain management protocols
- Advanced proficiency in ArcGIS and AutoCAD software
- Demonstrated success with community outreach in diverse populations
- Knowledge of Louisiana's Coastal Zone Management Act
- Strong grant writing and budget management skills
