Responsibilities
- Lead comprehensive urban planning projects including zoning updates and neighborhood revitalization initiatives
- Analyze demographic and economic data to inform policy recommendations for city council
- Facilitate public meetings and stakeholder engagement sessions across diverse communities
- Prepare detailed reports and environmental impact assessments for major infrastructure projects
- Coordinate with FEMA and state agencies on coastal resilience and flood mitigation planning
- Manage GIS mapping systems to visualize development patterns and compliance metrics
- Oversee code enforcement related to historic preservation and architectural standards
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive experience in municipal planning or government policy
- Professional AICP certification required
- Advanced proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS) and statistical analysis tools
- Demonstrated experience with NEPA documentation and environmental reviews
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for public presentations
- Deep understanding of Louisiana's coastal zone management regulations
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Louisiana driver's license
