Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive urban planning strategies aligned with Raleigh's 2030 Comprehensive Plan
- Analyze zoning applications and land development proposals for regulatory compliance
- Lead public engagement initiatives to gather community input on planning initiatives
- Prepare detailed reports and recommendations for City Council and Planning Commission
- Collaborate with engineering, transportation, and environmental departments on integrated projects
- Research and implement best practices in sustainable urban development
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive urban planning experience in government or public sector
- Valid North Carolina AICP certification preferred
- Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS) and planning analysis tools
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for public presentations
- Knowledge of North Carolina municipal planning regulations and statutes
- Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
