Responsibilities
- Lead comprehensive urban development projects and zoning code revisions
- Analyze demographic, economic, and environmental data to inform policy recommendations
- Coordinate inter-departmental initiatives for infrastructure modernization
- Prepare detailed impact assessments for proposed legislative changes
- Manage public consultation processes and stakeholder engagement
- Ensure compliance with Local Law 97 and other sustainability mandates
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for City Council review
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in municipal planning or government policy
- Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS) and spatial analysis tools
- Expertise in NYC zoning regulations and land use procedures
- Strong quantitative analysis skills with statistical software (R, Python)
- Valid New York State driver's license
- U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required
- Experience with community engagement methodologies
