Responsibilities
- Analyze urban development trends and prepare comprehensive planning reports for city council review
- Lead community outreach initiatives to gather stakeholder input on zoning and infrastructure projects
- Develop data-driven recommendations for affordable housing initiatives and transportation improvements
- Oversee environmental impact assessments and compliance with California environmental regulations
- Coordinate with state agencies to align Oakland's planning goals with regional development strategies

Qualifications
- Master's degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in municipal planning or government policy development
- Expertise in GIS software and spatial data analysis tools
- Proven track record in community engagement and public consultation processes
- Strong knowledge of California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and planning regulations
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with ability to present complex concepts
- Valid California driver's license with clean driving record
