Responsibilities
- Lead comprehensive urban planning projects including zoning amendments, transit-oriented development, and public space revitalization
- Analyze demographic data, economic trends, and environmental impact studies to inform policy recommendations
- Facilitate public meetings and community engagement sessions to gather stakeholder input
- Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and regulatory documents for city council approval
- Coordinate with transportation, housing, and sustainability departments on integrated development strategies
- Ensure compliance with Georgia state planning statutes and federal HUD regulations
- Mentor junior planning staff and supervise consultant contracts
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive urban planning experience in municipal government
- Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS) and urban planning modeling tools
- Deep knowledge of Georgia zoning laws and Atlanta development codes
- Proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for public presentations
- Valid Georgia driver's license with clean driving record
- LEED AP or AICP certification preferred
