Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive urban policy frameworks aligned with NYC's 2050 sustainability goals
- Analyze complex zoning regulations and land use patterns for city-wide impact assessments
- Lead stakeholder engagement sessions with community boards, developers, and advocacy groups
- Prepare detailed policy briefs and presentations for City Council and Mayoral offices
- Collaborate with agencies like DEP and DOT on integrated urban planning projects
- Monitor federal/state policy changes affecting municipal planning initiatives
- Manage research budgets and supervise junior policy analysts
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Urban Planning, Public Policy, or related field (PhD preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive policy analysis experience in municipal government
- Expertise in NYC zoning code and ULURP process
- Advanced proficiency in GIS software and spatial data analysis
- Proven track record of developing successful community engagement strategies
