Responsibilities
- Analyze complex policy issues and draft actionable recommendations for City Council
- Lead cross-departmental projects on housing, climate action, and economic development
- Prepare comprehensive reports and data visualizations for public presentations
- Manage stakeholder engagement processes with community groups and private sector partners
- Monitor federal/state legislation and assess local impact
- Oversee research initiatives using quantitative and qualitative methodologies
- Develop performance metrics for program evaluation and continuous improvement
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, or related field
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in government or nonprofit sector
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools (SQL, R, Python)
- Expertise in Sacramento County's governmental structure and regulations
- Proven track record of translating policy concepts into actionable frameworks
- Strong public speaking and legislative testimony experience
- California driver's license and ability to travel to multiple city sites
