Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activity and enforce facility regulations during overnight shifts
- Conduct regular security patrols and perimeter checks
- Respond to emergencies and incidents with de-escalation techniques
- Document all incidents and maintain accurate shift reports
- Screen visitors and packages according to protocol
- Operate security systems and control room equipment
- Collaborate with day shift officers for seamless operations
Qualifications
- Michigan Peace Officer Standards Training (MCOLES) certification
- Valid Michigan driver's license
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Ability to work rotating night shifts (10:00 PM - 6:00 AM)
- Basic CPR and first aid certification
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods
