Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility regulations during night shift operations
- Conduct regular security checks and headcounts to maintain institutional order
- Respond to emergencies and incidents with de-escalation protocols
- Document incident reports and maintain accurate log entries
- Collaborate with shift supervisors and law enforcement agencies
- Operate security systems including surveillance equipment and control panels
- Escort inmates within facility and during transport operations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) certification preferred
- Ability to work rotating night shifts with weekends and holidays
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean driving record
- Pass background check, drug screening, and physical fitness assessment
- Strong conflict resolution and communication skills
- Basic computer proficiency for reporting systems
- Minimum 21 years of age at time of hire
