Responsibilities
- Manage and process incoming public inquiries, applications, and requests for information in a timely and accurate manner.
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate records for state programs and community services.
- Assist in the preparation of reports, correspondence, and meeting materials using MS Office Suite.
- Coordinate and schedule appointments or meetings for department staff and external clients.
- Ensure compliance with all state and local government regulations and policies.
- Provide high-quality customer service to the residents of Onslow County.
- Assist in the orientation and training of new staff members when necessary.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; Associate’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in administrative support, clerical work, or customer service.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with the public.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with strict confidentiality.
- Valid North Carolina Driver's License and reliable transportation (may be required for travel between locations).
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
