Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of IT projects from conception through completion, ensuring alignment with state agency goals.
- Manage cross-functional teams of developers, analysts, and stakeholders to ensure project milestones are met on time and within budget.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, ensuring compliance with state regulations and procurement policies.
- Communicate project status, updates, and blockers to senior leadership and department heads effectively.
- Oversee the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, testing, and deployment.
- Facilitate stakeholder meetings and ensure clear documentation of processes and requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, specifically within government or large-scale enterprise IT environments.
- Proven experience with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project management methodologies.
- Strong proficiency in project management tools such as Jira, Microsoft Project, or Smartsheet.
- PMP, CAPM, or PgMP certification is highly preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
