Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of high-impact IT projects for the City of San Francisco, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
- Manage the full project lifecycle (initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure) while adhering to federal, state, and local regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, developers, and city officials, to define project scopes and deliverables.
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Prepare detailed status reports, budget forecasts, and presentations for executive leadership and the City Council.
- Facilitate stakeholder meetings and maintain clear communication channels to ensure transparency and buy-in across all departments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Public Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of project management experience, with at least 3 years specifically within the Government or Public Sector.
- Proven experience managing large-scale IT initiatives, preferably in a municipal or federal environment.
- PMP, CAPM, or PgMP certification is highly desirable.
- Strong proficiency in Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid project management methodologies.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate technical jargon for non-technical audiences.
