Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 2 & 3 Technical Support: Troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues for government employees across multiple locations.
- Network Administration: Monitor and maintain local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN) to ensure optimal performance and security.
- System Maintenance: Perform regular updates, patches, and backups for servers and workstations in compliance with state cybersecurity standards.
- User Assistance: Deliver exceptional customer service by guiding staff through technical processes and resolving inquiries promptly.
- Asset Management: Track, inventory, and manage IT assets, ensuring proper disposal of obsolete equipment.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of system configurations, incidents, and resolutions.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in IT support or system administration within a government or corporate environment.
- Certifications: CompTIA A+ or Network+ certification is strongly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, TCP/IP, and common office productivity software.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical staff.
- Background Check: Ability to pass a standard background check and obtain a clear criminal history record check required for state employment.
